PASSION and MISSION

WHAT MATTERS at GARDEN-911 BOSTON

Garden-911 Boston owner Carol Lundeen and mother Barbara J. Rogers in Yarmouthport, MA

The apple that is love and respect for nature doesn’t fall far from the tree, as Garden-911 Boston owner Carol Lundeen and her mother, Barbara J. Rogers of Yarmouthport, MA decorate an urn with native plants as a gift for a family member. Carol robustly adopted Barbara’s love of birds, butterflies and nature. And yes, camping was definitely involved.

Garden-911 Boston owner Carol Lundeen says, “I’m very fortunate. As your local native plant and pollinator geek, I help people create butterfly and pollinator gardens – reshaping landscapes into healthier habitats for people, pets, pollinators – for the benefit of our whole web of life. My organic, ecological approach to design and consulting helps people make a difference by supporting wildlife while using less resources – like water, time and money – and I love helping them succeed!”

“As a kid growing up on the Cape in the early sixties, I adopted my folks’ love of nature. Their eye for observing details – especially in what was abuzz in the gardens – and passions for song and shore birds, thrilled be. My dad, Herbert S. Hughes, U.S. Navy vet and fireman, would take us fishing, the best parts of which were catching worms by flashlight the night before, and the walk and talk to and from sun-glittered Dennis Pond, with its turtles, snakes and blueberries.”
